Endodontics is a specialized field of oral health, although it is still largely unknown to the general public. This specialty focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the dental pulp, the root of the tooth, and the surrounding tissues (periradicular tissues). The main objective of endodontic interventions is to preserve a tooth, thus avoiding its extraction, while protecting the patient against the spread of infections, as is the case with an abscess. A dental abscess can cause a variety of unpleasant symptoms, including pain, facial swelling, and pus discharge from the mouth. Without proper treatment, it can lead to serious complications, jeopardizing the patient's overall health. It is therefore crucial to treat it promptly.
